Nivia first stains the canvas with turquoise acrylic. She works layers of acrylic washes over the original image, and then overlays with color pencil.
Recently, Nivia was in a car accident, and was paralyzed on her left side, which was the side she painted with. Subsequently, she no longer can paint.
