Linda Dobkin was born and raised in New York. After moving to Tucson in 1975, she started taking art classes to follow up on earlier interests. This began with graphite and color pencil. Then followed by additional drawing and design classes at Pima College. She started painting in acrylic and oil. Finally choosing oil to help her represent the world around her. She studied with some of art's finest instructors at Scottsdale Artists' School.
Linda has taught painting classes, including at the Arthritis Foundation as a form of therapy for people with arthritis. Her artwork has been chosen for their holiday cards over the years. She has designed T-shirts for local schools as well as worked with elementary school children as an instructional aid, with an emphasis on art. Her works have brought awards and ribbons on a number of occasions at Pima College, as well as Tubac Center of the Arts. Presently her works can be seen at Old Pueblo Gallery in Tucson.
Her greatest joy comes from knowing she can share this phenomenon of the soul with others.
