Lillias Apland is a Tucson, Arizona native. With a passion for art that began in early childhood she was self-taught until studying under R. Brownell McGrew much later in life. She not only creates art, she enjoys doing extensive historical research about some of the media she works with including crayons and oil paints. She uses crayons as an inexpensive way to teach art to young people and adults alike. She was trained as a classics mater and enjoys painting in a variety of styles.
