Francis Swigart was born in New Orleans to a family with a history of artistic talent. From early childhood she knew that art was her passion. She attended the Newcomb Art School at Tulane University in the 1960's where she was trained in printmaking techniques she still adhere's to. . Her work has been displayed in galleries in Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York and New Orleans. SHe has taught at the Hunter Museum of Art and the University of Tennessee and is a guest lecturer for the Arts Council of New Orleans. She holds a Fine Arts degree from Tulane University.
